This briefing aims to update MSPs on the provision of Music in schools, particularly the provision of instrumental music tuition, in the context of COVID-19 from the perspective of the EIS, Scotland’s largest teaching union.
It considers the importance of equitable access to music education as part of the Recovery Curriculum and the damaging impact of the pandemic on music tuition for children and young people, Instrumental Music Teachers (‘IMTs’) and society as a whole.
