EIS AGM: Dundee and Angus College Picket as College Dispute Rolls On

Created on: 06 Jun 2024

EIS-FELA members at Dundee and Angus College will hold a picket and rally at D&A Kingsway Campus on Friday 7th June.

The strike action at D&A College is part of a national day of industrial action being undertaken by FELA members as part of the ongoing pay campaign, and coincides with EIS AGM being held at the Caird Hall (6th-8th June) in Dundee.

Dundee & Angus College is in the constituency of Graeme Dey, the Scottish Government Minister for Higher and Further Education.

Speakers at the picket and rally will include: national EIS-FELA President Anne-Marie Harley, EIS President Paula McEwan and EIS General Secretary Andrea Bradley.

Commenting, EIS General Secretary Andrea Bradley said, "In the midst of the worst cost-of-living crisis in a generation, when soaring inflation has taken a massive toll on the value of pay, Scotland’s college lecturers are still being paid at 2021 levels.

"This is a disgrace, which should shame Scotland’s college employers and a Scottish Government that has abdicated all responsibility over this area of the public sector."

Picket and Rally Timeline:
