Recent economic shocks, the socio-economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the ongoing cost of living crisis have conspired to cause deepening levels of poverty and inequality across Scotland and the wider UK.
Recognising that schools continue to battle the impacts of poverty on children and young people day and daily, the EIS has published fresh anti-poverty guidance for the classroom ahead of Challenge Poverty Week 2024 on Tuesday the 1st of October, building extensively upon our very widely used 2015 ‘Face Up to Child Poverty’ publication.
