EIS Refugee and Migrant Welcome Packs
Please find below links to the EIS refugee welcome packs online resources.
EIS has produced a suite of educational packs to welcome young people from migrant and refugee families into Scottish schools. The Welcome Packs are specific to three age ranges (P1-P4, P5-S3 and S4-S6), and are designed to inform young people and their parents of their rights as pupils/students in Scottish education and to convey a positive, welcoming message to the young people about Scotland as their new home. The booklets included in the packs aim to give newly arrived young people and their families some information about school education in Scotland, as well as some background about Scotland itself by way of introduction to the country.
All booklets within the EIS Refugee Welcome Packs have been updated to include both Dari and Pashto, and online versions can now be accessed via the EIS website. Hard copies of the packs have been distributed throughout Scotland as a result of communication between EIS HQ and local authorities. Refugee pack info, translated versions etc.
Parent’s Booklets have been translated into all five different languages, and can be accessed via the EIS website. Parent/carer books translated pdfs : (English, Polish, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, French)
Audio translations of the Parent’s Booklet in all five additional languages, as well as English, are available to download from the EIS website. Audio Translations of parent booklet: (English, Polish, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, French)
