How to claim back pay
This information is for members who have left the college sector, moved to a new post in a different college or have retired.
Further to the 2022-26 NJNC FE Pay Agreement for lecturing staff, you should contact your payroll department to request that the increase is processed for you in order that you receive what you are due. When the pay is processed, the Scottish Public Pensions Agency will be advised of the details by your previous employer and your pension will be recalculated if appropriate. Here are the details you should include when calling or making contact by email/letter:

“As you will be aware, the National Joint Negotiating Committee (NJNC) has agreed a national pay award for all lecturing staff for the academic years 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26. This pay award includes payment of backdated pay for lecturing staff who worked at colleges, inclusive of 1st September 2022 up until their final date of service.
Please accept this as notice that I wish to receive the backdated pay due to me up to and including my final date of service. Payment can be made by direct transfer to my current bank details which you hold on record" (or advise of new bank details).
