On Tuesday, 1st March, GTC Scotland launched the A-Z of Professional Learning. Through this online platform, lecturers are given the opportunity to share examples of professional learning that have impacted on their practice and ultimately, on the student experience.
The resource highlights contributions from college lecturers across the country and demonstrates that professional learning takes many forms and is not confined solely to attendance at Continuous Professional Development sessions.
It can be much more, ranging, for example, from discussions with colleagues about what works best in the delivery remote or blended learning; to the impact of coaching on promoting equality and lecturer empowerment; or to the benefits of scholarship in supporting the development of good practice which can ultimately be shared with others.
Why not take some time to share in the experiences of the first contributors? Listening to their short video clips or written articles may, after all, inform your practice and form part of your professional learning.
The resource will be refreshed with new contributions as lecturers share their experiences. If you have an example of professional learning which you would like to share, then please complete the Professional Learning Template below and submit it to derek.timpany@gtcs.org.uk.
We look forward to learning about the valuable new ideas and practice which you, as college lecturers, have to share in the months to come.
