In August, over 400 college lecturers from across Scotland came together through a series of webinars to learn more about GTCS registration, in advance of the national roll-out of the college lecturer registration programme from 6th September.
The sessions provided an opportunity for members to ask FELA negotiators and GTCS representatives questions about the rationale for registration, the registration process and the impact of registration on professional learning and practice.
If you missed the webinar or want to refresh your memory in relation to any aspect of the discussion, you can listen to this recording of one of the sessions. This is the first in a series of webinars which we will be offering to support the registration process as it is rolled out nationally and we look forward to welcoming you back to continue our conversation and share our experiences and understanding of GTCS registration in the coming year.

On Friday, 1st April, Branch Officials came together in an online webinar to learn more about the GTCS Fitness to Teach Process.
Jim Moore, a Development Officer at GTCS, led us through the Fitness to Teach procedures and provided helpful insight into the type of cases which might be investigated by GTCS and those which would not. Sonia Kerr, one of our Legal Officers, then discussed the support which the EIS offers to members in these situations and the process in accessing legal advice.
The session provided a valuable opportunity for Branch Officials to ask questions about the Fitness to Teach process. The presentation was recorded for those who couldn’t attend on the day or for those who might want to refresh their memory about aspects of the contributions made.
